Jacquemus’ Iconic 2024 F/W Show in Capri

Jacquemus marked its 15th anniversary with a stunning 2024 Fall/Winter collection titled “La Casa,” set against the breathtaking backdrop of Capri, a Mediterranean paradise. The event, attended by notable celebrities like Dua Lipa, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Peggy Gou, showcased the brand’s unique fusion of glamour, elegance, and artistry.

Inspired by Godard’s ‘Le Mépris’ and Casa Malaparte

Designer Simon Porte Jacquemus drew inspiration from the 1963 Jean-Luc Godard film Le Mépris and the iconic Casa Malaparte mansion on Capri, a location the designer has long admired. The owner of Casa Malaparte graciously allowed Jacquemus to use this prestigious venue for the show, adding to the magic of the occasion. The architectural beauty of the mansion, combined with the island’s stunning natural scenery, provided a fitting stage for this milestone in Jacquemus’ career.

A Glamorous Celebrity Guest List

The show’s star-studded audience included around 40 global figures such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Deva Cassel. Paltrow, a known lover of Capri, added an extra layer of glamour to the event with her attendance, celebrating Jacquemus’ ongoing success in high fashion.

From ESMOD to Global Success

After dropping out of Paris Fashion School ESMOD in 2009, Jacquemus launched his own brand, quickly gaining recognition for his distinctive vision. His breakthrough came when Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons took an interest in his work. Guided by Adrian Joffe, CEO of Dover Street Market, Jacquemus began to carve out his space in the competitive fashion industry. By 2014, he reached the finals of the LVMH Prize, solidifying his place as one of the leading independent designers in the world.

Bringing Accessible Luxury to Fashion

While Jacquemus has become a symbol of luxury, the designer is committed to creating high-end products that remain accessible. His fashion brand is celebrated for its blend of chic sophistication and affordability, making luxury fashion available to a broader audience. This ethos was present in the “La Casa” collection, which offered a range of designs that embody both extravagance and wearability.

“La Casa”: A Reflection of Timeless Style

The La Casa collection was a modern homage to timeless style icons, with Jacquemus drawing influence from Brigitte Bardot in Le Mépris and Jacqueline Kennedy’s renowned vacations in Capri. The pieces were a perfect reflection of the island’s effortless elegance, with the collection featuring soft silhouettes, bold colors, and sophisticated tailoring. Jacquemus once again showed his ability to blend French minimalism with Mediterranean flair, creating a collection that captivated the fashion world.

A Milestone Moment for Jacquemus

This 15th-anniversary collection celebrated not only Jacquemus’ journey as a designer but also his lasting impact on the fashion world. With each collection, Jacquemus continues to push boundaries and inspire a new generation of fashion lovers. The La Casa collection was a testament to his creative genius and his unwavering passion for design. As Jacquemus continues to evolve, he remains a key figure in shaping modern fashion, with “La Casa” serving as another chapter in his extraordinary career.

This remarkable event in Capri signifies that Jacquemus, while still a relatively young brand, has established itself as a major player in global luxury fashion, with an eye on continuing to break new ground in the industry.
